The Lowepro Fastpack 250 is one of my favorite bags for airline travel. Even though it’s compact, it easily holds my Canon 5D Mark II, 24-105 f/4, 70-200 f/4, 50 f/1.4, 1.4x extender, flash, and more. Plus I have room for my laptop and personal gear. When I’m on the plane, I can stash the Fastpack in the overhead bin or beneath the seat in front of me.
Here’s a trick to make this experience even more enjoyable: “back buckle” the belly band to keep it tight against the bag. The belly band is great when you’re hiking, but it can get in the way when stashing your Fastpack in overhead bins and other tight places. If you buckle the belly band back against the pack, everything is nice and tight for your travel.
Give it a try. It works great!
Kelvin,
I don’t know of any additional strapping tricks for the Fastpack 250. But, you should be carrying the weight of the bag on your hips, not your shoulders and back. So make sure the hip belt is adjusted correctly, and give it another go.
Is there an add-on or DIY sternum strap that someone can recommend for the Fastpack 250. My back is hurting after a short trip carrying this bag 😐
thanks in advance
WILL THE 350 FIT UNDER AN AIRLINE SEAT?
Hi –
That will depend in part on the airline. We definitely recommend checking with them before you fly to make sure. It is definitely within the 45 linear inch requirement for carry-on (it comes to 41.3 inches)– but those dimensions refer to overhead compartments primarily.
I bought this bag besucae i needed more space and a backpack for cycling, the best feature is the tripod holder so you can keep your hands warm in your pockets. Another great thing is it is extremely comfortable even on long walks with loads of gear. It has an all weather cover but unfortunatly cant be used with a tripod on the bag, however this is its only let down. It has a multitude of pockets and handy storage spaces with room to clip things on to the bag. I would not hesitate to recomend this bag.
Another great way of storing the waistbest for everyday use is to buckle it under the flap and then close the flap over it with the two buckle connectors. This is a great everyday bag as is the 350. I have all my gear whenever I need it as well as my notebook and other personal items…I gave by brother my briefcase and use this for that purpose because there is so much room and various ways of carrying the bag…try it out. For me it is the best photo and personal bags on the market.
