Lowepro Lens Exchange 200 AW

By September 22, 2010Products

One of my favorite components of the new Street & Field Series is the Lens Exchange 200 AW. This is the case that I’ve needed for years. Now when I have to make a change, I have a secure place for both lenses during the process. Here’s a short video featuring Lowepro Product Manager Tim Grimmer demonstrating the Lens Exchange at photokina.

I have lots more to discuss about this camera transport system, but I just had to show you this case today.

  • FWIW, I’d love to see a version of this bag in a slightly smaller size. I’m looking for a sliplock-compatible bag to hang off a Toploader case to house a Canon 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM.

This lens is slightly longer than the equivalent Nikon lens, and quite close in size to Canon’s 70-200 f/4 L lens, so there isn’t a great fit in the existing lens case line. It looks like LC2 would fit the lens perfectly, but not allow for a hood, while LC2S is just a smidgen too short, and LC3 is larger than needed. In addition, the AW cover and lens pull design on this bag are really appealing.

I would like to see a smaller version, too. I love the idea and design, it’s great. I don’t like the size of the bag given that you have to wear it on the front of the belt and it makes walking/hiking difficult. Even on the side, it constricts your arm movements when hiking. And, wearing it on the back of the belt isn’t practical when you want to change your lens.
