Prize Giveaway to Celebrate Mavericks Invitational

By January 19, 2013Events

Surf’s up in Northern California for the Mavericks Invitational surf competition on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013. Twenty-four top surfers will compete for prizes and bragging rights.

We know many of our photographers love adventure too. So we’ve arranged for Sports Illustrated shooter Robert Beck to post images from the event on the Lowepro Instagram page. You can keep track of Robert and all the action by following “Loweprobags” on Instagram.

But wait… There’s more!

We want to help you capture your own “Maverick” action too. So we’re giving away 24 Dashpoint 30 adventure pouches (perfect for a GoPro) – that’s one for each of the 24 surfers competing in the event. Plus, one lucky adventurer will receive the grand prize of a Lowepro Photo Hatchback 16L with a GoPro Hero White camera inside.

To participate, answer this question in the comments below: “Maverick surfers are extreme athletes for sure! What activity would you use the Dashpoint, Photo Hatchback, or GoPro camera for?” Increase your chance to win by helping us spread the word. Send this tweet from your own Twitter account: “@Lowepro is giving away @GoPro camera and #PhotoHatchback”

Giveaway void where prohibited. Comments must be submitted to this post by 11:59 PM PST, Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. Those selected for prizes will need to provide a shipping address and phone number. All results are final. Lowepro is not affiliated with the Mavericks Invitational or with GoPro.

I would use it while hiking a 14er in Colorado

To record myself and keep things dry hiking around Atlanta.

  • Rhys Bowley says:

When I’m with the family it’s all motorsport. When I’m with the girlfriend… well, she works in the rainforest. Whatever the situation it will be outdoors and I’m always concerned out the protection of my slr gear.
It would be a dream come true to attach a GoPro to my motorbike for one of my track days around Silverstone!

  • Paul Carter says:

I’d jump off waterfalls, take it snowboarding and longboarding, create some time-lapse camping videos, and a few other things. But I think it would be really cool to attach it facing backwards to the fin of a dragster. Then you’d see the tires as they began to throw smoke and you’d see the starting gate disappear, plus the parachute as it opens at the end, it’d look cool.

The pack would become my around town pack. The secure entrance would be idea for my area, as many thieves have learned that a camera bag is an easy grab with thousands of dollars inside.

  • Nick says:

Go Pro would be sweet for video’s of climbing cranes, running train tracks, jet skiing, wakeboarding etc.

  • Jeff Treft says:

I would stick my DSLR and new GoPro in my new Lowepro Photo Hatchback 16L bag and document trips with my wife hiking around Utah and traveling around on our upcoming trip to China! Then I would post all about the trips and the awesomeness of my new Lowepro bag on my gear review site, theBREAKDOWN!

  • Tom Mason says:

As a young wildlife photographer and Gap year student I would use it to record my travels and adventures over the next year, as well as using it to capture ultra wide, up close and personal, wildlife photography and videos both above and below the waves!

  • Josh Evans says:

I would use the bag to carry the go pro while travelling and the gopro would be used to capture and document my 7 weeks of travelling across Japan…

  • I would use the Lowepro for all my photo treks and the gopro while rappelling down a waterfall.

  • Eric says:

Cut a hole in the shield used for medieval sword fight training. Could get some cool shots.

  • Neil Leventhal says:

I would use the Lowepro bag and GoPro camera to capture the action on mountain biking adventures, bouldering trips, and of course races at the local velodrome.

  • Josiah Brubaker says:

Rock climbing, snow kiting, slacklining, and much more!

  • Brent Johnston says:

I would attach it to my guitar headstock to record the audience while I play!

  • Taking epic photos whilst stage diving, and filming the crowd whilst in the pit \m/
