Last week when I posted this picture of my “collector’s edition” Lowepro Terraclime Padfolio, many readers wanted to know where they could get one too. Well, you can’t buy ’em unless you find one on eBay or craigslist. But guess what? I have 6 more of them stashed away. And I’m willing to part with the half dozen to celebrate this week’s “Throwback Thursday.”

Just by way of history, more than 95 percent of the total content of Terraclime bags are made from recycled materials, mostly used water bottles. There were three colors of these bags: grasshopper green, plum, and black. There are still brand new versions of the Terraclime 30 and others from the series available on Amazon and through other retailers. But I doubt you’re going to find the special edition padfolios anywhere because they were made for special events and not sold through retail channels.

Here’s how you can enter for a chance to get one of these six. Post a comment on this blog about any earth-friendly activity you engage in. This could be your recycling program at home, how you’ve cut back on energy use, changes you’ve made with transportation, or volunteer work you’ve done.

On Thursday morning, July 25, 2013 at 7am PDT, we will close our eyes and select 6 of those comments from this blog post as recipients of a Terraclime Padfolio. All decisions are final. Giveaway is void where prohibited. We will list the names here and on our Facebook Fan Page as part of “Throwback Thursday.” Hat not included.

So, what earth-friendly activity are you engaged in?

Every time we’re going out w/them i always bring my cam. taking pictures o trees, animals etc.and trying to explain how important to take of our environment. To show GOD that we love the Earth HE created for us.

I work in a small family owned market. We have a “lights out” policy where we turn out the lights in all of the food coolers and freezers when we leave them. Also, the business owners have installed motion sensors on all of the lights in the conference rooms, bathrooms and break rooms, so if somebody forgets the policy in those rooms, the lights go off automatically. In addition, the store recycles cardboard and plastic shopping bags and offers a discount per bag for each one re-used at checkout and for cloth bags. At home, we have replaced all of our light bulbs with CFLs, and replaced all of our major appliances with Energy star units. We also close all of our shades and windows during the day, and open them at night to let the cooler air in. We recently received a notice from our electric company that we used “significantly less electricity” than our neighbors with the same sized property. We also take part in our town’s recycling program, and as a result our family of 5 only has one bag of actual trash per week. I installed a rain barrel at the end of our house’s downspout to use rainwater to water our veggies and perennials. I’d LOVE to have a bag that was made from recycled materials!

Awesome! I love products that are made out of recyclable materials. I have purchased quite a few items from REI which are made from recycled plastic bottles. We skip bags (or reuse paper bags) when we go shopping. I hang dry at least 40% of our laundry versus putting them into the dryer. My family and I are learning to become more sustainable.
This bag would fit in perfectly with my lifestyle.
    Good luck everyone!
    Thanks Lowepro for this opportunity!!

At work we would throw away plenty of plastic bottles instead of recycling them. So I went out and bought some bins to start collecting plastic to recycle and we use to the to pay for our staff banquet at the end of the year.
