Lowepro made the most of our 50 year mountain heritage this past month by supporting the legendary Endurance Downhill Mountain biking event in Fort William, Scotland.

Following a simple format of racing laps of the World Cup track for 6 hours, this event saw competitors coming from all over the UK to face what many see as the toughest race on the calendar.

With the backdrop of the Scottish Highlands proving once again to be one of the most dynamic for photographers to capture in the world, Lowepro Photographer Charles Robertson was on hand to capture the action using his trusted Flipside 500 AW II backpack.

After a mass start and slog up the hill, the racers battled away, trying to keep their bodies and bikes in one piece to get to 15 laps the quickest. After 4 hours of enjoyment of the brutal track the awesome landscape played a wild card and 50mph winds bought the race to an early finish and the party kicked in.

Lowepro’s Tim Sadler took the team bus up to Scotland to support this event and give out some well-earned prizes to the winners in the four categories. He also got some laps in with the number 50 plate to celebrate our 50th Anniversary.

Lowepro’s involvement at this event shows our commitment to the mountains we were born in and the photographers who are out there capturing amazing images around the world.
