Organizing Our Gear for the New Year

By January 6, 2012It Also Fits..., Products

January is a great time of year to clean out closets, review upcoming expenses, and even tackle that messy garage. But what about your camera gear? Over time we tend to collect lenses and other accessories. How are you storing them? On shelves where they’re exposed to dust? In various camera bags? Desk drawers?

One of the best systems for protecting your equipment in an organized manner is with a roller bag. You can create compartments for each item, with everything clearly visible when you open the bag.

When it’s time to go on a shoot, you can select the pieces you need and put them in your favorite backpack or shoulder sling. And if it’s a big assignment, just take the entire roller with you. If you review the options on the Lowepro Pro Roller x-Series page, you’ll see that there are a variety of sizes to accommodate the amount of equipment you use.

Rollers are easy to store. They don’t take up much room, even in the tightest quarters. Yet, you have bodies, lenses, flashes, and other accessories readily available… and protected. While you’re organizing the rest of your life in this New Year, consider treating yourself to a sturdy, efficient, and handsome roller bag. What a great way to start 2012.

Free Bag Friday Winner! Congratulations to Mike Ross, who was randomly selected from the comments for this blog. Mike wrote, “Oh boy, I was just thinking I needed something for an upcoming Maui trip to consolidate my gear. The my 2 lowepro bag set up isn’t cutting it anymore, need something for the Nikon and Lenses, Gopro and housings.” Well, Mike, you’ll soon have a Pro Roller x200 for that gear. Thanks to everyone who participated. Stay tuned for another Free Bag Friday.

“GIMME! GIMME! GIMME!” (Just gettin’ in the spirit of the event! Laf’n.) Seriously, I would be humbled to have one of these bags to carry all my gear…in one bag! THANKS (in advance) for picking me!

I decided to commit myself to travel photography last year and have been looking for a suitable travel bag for all my gear. The Roller X-series looks so perfect for just that! The wheels make it easy to travel with, the smaller sizes would make for a great carry-on luggage, not to mention I can finally organize all my gear and have them protected while I travel. I’m heading to Cuba next month, if I win, I would definitely take the x200 with me!

With the new Pro Roller X200, I can pack a whole load of gear and fly to location easily. The Pro Roller X200 is compatible with most airline carrier carry on, it makes traveling with gear as hassle free as possible. With the Pro Roller X200 I have less to worry about my gear knowing it is well built, durable and secure.

  • Luke says:

It would hold all of my equipment and I would carry it everywhere, even camping, since I’ve heard positive things about the sturdiness and durability of Lowepro products.

Rolling your gear is easier than carrying it! I have nothing but good things to say about my Flipside 400 AW.

My biggest dilemma when I travel is whether I take all my gear and risk a broken back, or travel light and risk to miss a shot!!

Well no more head scratching with one of those roller bag! Plus they look the part that’s for sure 🙂

On the odd occasion I get to use a roller bag I find that they’re great for storage, they protect your gear and they are easy to transport. Roller bags are definitely worth the investment.

Because I wanna ROCK & PRO ROLL on my future adventures!

  • Gary Ames says:

Why pick me? Because I’m your #1 fan! Because that amazing Pro-Roller would hold ALL of my gear. Because everywhere I went people would say, “look at that Pro-shooter and his amazing equipment.” Because it would make me feel Awesome…just like driving a 5.0 Mustang did in the 80’s. Because, because, because, because…of all the wonderful things it does!

  • Justine B says:

I could finally continue to grow my collection with this easy roller. I wouldn’t have to worry about where I will store my equipment or how I will manage carrying everything to and from weddings.

  • Debra Dettone says:

I would finally have a storage place for the lens that I wasn’t currently using and even then they could be brought along and stored safely out of sight (in a vehicle or what not) and if I needed them, they would be there. But, the most exciting news is, this bag would safe my back!!!! Great idea!

I just got a bag from the Stealth Reporter line and I love it. Trouble is, I still have more gear that I don’t necessarily carry all the time. From the looks of this roller, I could use it to store all the rest of my gear and have some room to expand. In any case, Lowepro makes the best bags and I love my new Stealth Reporter.

First off, Lowepro products are the best in the business. I’ve had a couple, and currently have the Slingshot 200AW. If you don’t have one, get one. A Very convenient camera bag. Having said that, a Roller x200 would be a perfect upgrade to a growing collection of gear. Having the convenience of being able to get around without having a bag on your shoulder is a very attractive proposition. If you don’t pick me, no worries. Just keep making the great products your making. JP Smith
