Our colleague Joanne is the human resources manager during the week and, as she says, a “photographer by passion” in her free time. She is the winner of the 2009 USA Today/DiscoverAmerica.com “Picture USA” national photo contest. And her images can be found in private homes and galleries in Northern California.
She recently returned from a Montana photography trip to shoot in Glacier National Park and the Triple “D” Game Farm in Kalispell – a ranch that offers trained animal models for wildlife and cinematography and includes clients such as National Geographic, Nature and the BBC. She was kind enough to share a few of her favorite shots from the trip and of her kit.
“I used a Pro Roller x100 to get my Canon 5D and big lenses to the site for wildlife and long-distance shots and the Photo Hatchback 22L AW (my new favorite), plus a JOBY UltraFit Sling Strap for women to carry my compact Olympus OM-5 system.”
“I like to travel with my laptop so I can review and sort out my images in the evenings. On this trip I chose a Siberian tiger cub and a young grizzly as my subjects. I had a blast!”
